  1. I just came across your podcast last week and love it. Such a gift! I’m a 62 year old HSP and introvert. I’ve always liked and accepted myself thanks to a wonderful mother, but it wasn’t until my 50s, after reading Elaine Aron’s book and listening to Susan Cain’s CD, Quiet, I began to understand myself more. Listening to your podcast gives me a beautiful sense of community. I truly thank you for that. Even though I just discovered your podcast, I’ve listened to many of the episodes already while running and cooking. I can relate to everything you talk about especially the empathy towards animals. I’ve been a vegetarian for most of my adult life when being a vegetarian wasn’t so popular. I’ve been a vegan for many years, because once I understood the “evils” of the dairy factory farming industry, I had no choice but to go vegan. I wasn’t happy about giving up dairy, meat wasn’t as hard to give up, and I was extremely angry for a period of time. But being a HSP helped me tap into my compassion, not only for animals, but for people who just didn’t have the knowledge or empathy for the horrible suffering of animals in our factory farming system. The cruelty is unthinkable. So, do I find being a HSP difficult, absolutely, but I view it as a blessing. My compassion has grown because of my empathy for all living things and I am grateful. Thank you for giving another voice to HSP!
